Lip piercing is the new fab specially among teens. Lip piercing which is often believed to the modern day fab but the origin lies in ancient African tradition of wearing jewellery on their lips. Well, history repeats itself and thus, the fashion is back but the comeback is along with several other dangers. Lip piercing dangers do exist and according to reports, more than 57% of those opting for lip piercing face these dangers. Lets look at some Lip Piercing Dangers -

1.According to Dr.Dimitris N. Tatakis, one of the major lip piercing dangers is that it makes the teeth sensitive to cold and prone to cavities. The stub slowly erodes the teeth enamel, gums and affect the nerve.

2.Nerve damage is the next most frequent lip piercing dangers faced by people. Lip is a very sensitive part and usually the nerve is damaged in the process of piercing. This can lead to several other dangers.

3.Tooth scrambling is the first effect of lip piercing. This happens even before teeth erosion. Teeth scrambling happens due to erosion and infection in which the teeth gets loosened and there might be a slight change in the position. This brings about changes in the jawline.

4.Yet another danger is that of oral patches. The infections which take place due to the constant erosion of the gum and the teeth often leave behind patches.

5.Recently, there has been several cases of HIV and Hepatitis caused due to the piercing.
